In Memory of Out~LAW~ — Anthony Fisher (1987–2004)
R.I.P
Anthony Fisher (1987-2004) was a lot of things to a lot of different people. He was obviously a son, a brother, and a loved one to all those that knew him in person. To those in the DF2 community that knew him he was more than just an excellent DF2 player, more than a loyal squad m8, and more than a 17 year old kind hearted kid that had an affinity for 2-Pac and SUV's......he was that guy that you see in the picture filling up the armory with sats, he was the guy that would run out of the armory with a shotgun in the middle of map and make everyone say "wtf", the guy that would chase people around with an mp5 and rack up hilarious kills......In short Tony A.K.A Outlaw was a free spirit....a fun loving kid that no matter how hard you tried not to laugh, would always find a way to make you smile in the middle of a routine blackops map, an important practice, or the middle of a heated match. He was also a kind hearted soul...someone that took the time to get to know others in the df2 community way beyond the game itself....and helped out many people in many different ways....always going above and beyond. He spent 2 entire weeks near the end of his life doing nothing but working on our website and multiple guys message board signatures. He was the kind of guy that did it all not expecting anything back in return...he just loved to help others.
Tony was also a fighter...a kid with a tremendous competitive spirit that always wanted to win and was the epitome of a team player. Showed up to every practice and every match that he was able to play in when his health did not interrupt. A guy who when asked by his parents just 2 weeks ago if there was anything he really wanted (because they obviously knew he didn't have long to live) and laying in his bed too weak to get up or stay away very long responded with...." A laptop....so that I can get online and catch up with the DFG guys".
Tony came to us mid-way through last season's BFL league. At the time DFG was in a little bit of rut....alot of guys were inactive due to other committments (work, life, etc) and Outlaw stepped in and ignited our second half run. Without him....we never would have won the league last year....and Tony was so happy and so proud of the championship that he could barely contain himself afterwards. He stepped up when it mattered the most.
When describing our fallen teammate the last couple of days, DFG members have used all of the following adjectives: A Beacon of Light, and inspiration, a difference maker, a leader, an example.....and most of all......a friend.
I think the last thing is what will stick with me for as long as I'm around......he was the closest thing to an "internet" friend I have ever and will ever have. Pack up your DF2 gear and go home Tony.....you fought the good fight....and like always you came out on top.
His memory will carry with us forever. DFG will keep the promise made to you Tony.....
