About this rebuild

www.chisquad.com went offline years ago. This is a static reconstruction of the site as it stood in 2003, built from snapshots held by the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.

The original ran on ColdFusion with a live database behind it. Logins, uploads, the guestbook form, the stats pages, the map uploader and the server lobby all needed that database, and none of it survives — so those parts are here as pages you can read rather than things you can use. The Log In and Sign Up links are kept only because they were part of the original navigation.

Everything presented as squad content — the Creed, Origins, roster, ranks, ribbons, server rules, map descriptions, screenshot captions and guestbook entries — is reproduced from the archived pages, unedited. Where something could not be recovered, the page says so plainly rather than filling the gap.

The rank insignia and ribbon graphics are the squad's own image files, recovered from the Archive. They are served from this site if a local copy is present, and pulled from the Internet Archive if not — run fetch-assets.sh (or fetch-assets.ps1) once from the site root to bring every one of them down locally, and the site becomes fully self-contained.

The archive index lists every captured page with a link straight to its Wayback snapshot, so anything here can be checked against the original.
